From baggage reclaim to road-trip mode

Land near London. Launch straight into Britain or Europe.

There is no depot queue and no 30-minute taxi back to Chertsey. Message after baggage reclaim, take Heathrow's Long Stay transfer and meet the owner beside the actual van you booked. Your luggage moves once, your orientation is personal and the road trip begins from the airport.

Especially useful for Californian, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand travellers who value arrival certainty, an automatic van and a real person at the handover.

One van, properly known

Adventure outside. A capable little home inside.

The Heathrow workflow is real

Van Tropez already uses scheduled Long Stay handovers, with an agreed meeting zone, flight-aware grace window and direct return.

Overseas drivers welcomed

Eligible North American, Australian and New Zealand licences can be covered, subject to normal individual approval before a firm booking.

A gentler first drive

Automatic transmission, compact VW dimensions and a personal familiarisation reduce the cognitive load after a long flight.

Packed for the trip

The 2024 conversion gives you heat, cooking, fridge, water, hook-up and a comfortable sleeping setup without an equipment-shopping detour.

Three first-trip shapes

Your flight lands at Heathrow. The rest can be gloriously different.

Choose Britain, add France or make Europe the main event. The examples set a believable pace rather than prescribing every night.

Two weeks

The British best-of

Begin gently west of London, then link the Cotswolds, Wales or the West Country with a route that leaves room for weather and slow mornings.

  • No Channel crossing required
  • A low-complexity first night near Heathrow
  • Ideal for a first UK campervan trip

02

Clear everything before take-off

We confirm each driver, the countries, documents and insurance before a firm quote.

04

Launch with a real orientation

Move your luggage once, learn the actual van and begin with a deliberately easy first leg.

Designed for the right trip

Personal does not have to mean unpredictable.

The handover is built around a fixed appointment and a sensible grace window. That keeps the welcome human without turning a delayed flight into open-ended airport waiting.

  • Two-week minimum and a return to Heathrow Long Stay
  • All overseas drivers and documents approved in advance
  • A flight-aware but fixed handover appointment
  • An agreed UK or European route and realistic mileage
  • A sensible fatigue plan for the first drive

Good questions, answered plainly

Before you picture the first morning.

The final agreement, insurer approval and trip documents control the booking. These answers explain how the proposition is designed.

Are US and Canadian driving licences accepted?+

Eligible North American drivers, including Californians and Canadians, can be covered subject to age, licence tenure, claims, endorsements and individual insurer approval. We clear this before a firm quote.

Do we take a taxi to Chertsey?+

No. The handover is directly at Heathrow Long Stay. You use Heathrow's transfer from the terminal and meet beside the van in the agreed zone.

What if our flight is delayed?+

A fixed grace window handles normal variation. A material delay moves the handover to the next agreed slot, so neither side is left waiting indefinitely.

Can we drive into Europe?+

Yes for approved drivers, dates, countries and routes. Insurance, breakdown and vehicle-on-hire documentation are confirmed before departure.

What do we do with large suitcases?+

We will show the measured storage available with beds deployed. Secure suitcase storage will only be offered if a suitable insured arrangement is in place; otherwise we will point you to a professional service.

Should we drive straight after an overnight flight?+

That depends on the drivers and flight. We discuss fatigue in advance and provide a low-complexity first-night option; you choose same-day or next-slot collection within the agreed safety and insurance rules.
